what is a feed?
feeds or rss are basically urls that you can paste into a reader and get notified whenever there is a new post/article from the website you are following. this blog also has them and they are listed below.
feed url | description |
---|---|
blog posts | long form posts |
statuses | short form posts |
everything | everything together |
almost anything has an rss feed and with a reader you can basically curate your own timeline and see what you want to see from any source. you can follow people from bluesky or mastodon without ever having to create an account for example. you can follow newsletters, blogs, news sites, youtube channels etc etc. sky is the limit.
what reader should i use?
i would recommend
- feeder or capyreader on android
- netnewswire on ios and macos
- fluent reader on windows
you can always export your subscriptions and import them to another reader so don't worry too much about trying to find the perfect one.
