where i've been
i always find it jarring to start writing something after a long ass break. the motions feel unfamiliar, my mind feels unfocused. but i'm writing so something is working lol.
ever since the start of may i've done a lot of things, let me go by chronological order:
moldova
me and my friend decided to visit moldova. the original plan was to visit denmark but his visa application got denied so we pivoted to moldova. this was my first real trip outside of the country without my parents and it was really good. we stayed for a total of 5 days there and i really enjoyed it. i originally planned on writing a whole ass blog post about it but i didn't end up doing that.
we ended up going to staying in chisinau, visited transnistria and it's biggest city tiraspol and also went on a sidequest in gagauzia and even ended up touring a random high school funded by turkey. gagauzia was especially welcoming and it was really nice and weird to get more use out of turkish than english lol.
i was really nervous going into moldova since i've heard horror stories of turkish nationals not being allowed into the country after being held in a white room for hours on end but our process went surprisingly smoothly. though we did plan the whole ordeal extensively and even brought a goodwill letter lol.
i also brought an old digital camera and used that to take pictures and that was a whole lot of fun. here are some of my favourites from the trip.

the last exam of med school
after i came back from moldova i had a couple weeks to get ready for the last exam of medical school. it wasn't particularly hard but it feels like a big milestone looking back at it.
portugal
after the exam that marked the end of my 5th year of med school i only had a week off till my intern year started. so my parents suggested visiting somewhere for the short summer vacation i had and we ended up settling on going to portugal with a tour. i had a lot of fun there. we ended up seeing lisbon, porto and the small cities around them. like the moldova trip i brought my digicam and took a lot of blurry photos lol.

the last year of med school
so i started the final year of med school aka the intern year. it feels really weird to not have exams at all. although there is the upcoming medical specialty exam which i should be studying for, it still feels far away and i don't even know where to start for that lmao.
i'm actively working in the hospital and i finished my pediatric ER rotation, i'm now battling the pediatric infectious diseases ward and trying to still get used to the occasional 24 hour shift and the stress of balancing being friends with the people i'm working. some people are good friends but terrible colleagues and you can't see their true colours unless you spend 24 hours sleep deprived and under constant stress with them. i'm still wondering how many friendships are going to break even though i'm only a month into this year. the pressure cooker known as the internship is working it's magic on us lol.
on a more positive note i'm getting paid! it feels like a small step and the money isn't enough to sustain me on it alone but i do have a bit more financial freedom now. i decided to spend my first paycheck on getting a kobo e reader for me and my cousin. it's awesome, already finished one book on it.
other miscellaneous bits and bobs
i renewed the domain for this blog for one more year. still planning on writing the occasional blog post once i find the time. it's always hard to come back from a big break and i think the trick is writing little by little but consistently lol. hoping i can commit to that because it is nice to look back on my writings to see what went on in my life at that particular time.
