xkcd 323 and conscience masturbation
i was drinking the other day. when i'm drinking and i'm home alone there is a specific switch that gets activated and i start doing housework for some reason. one of my friends jokingly said i was experiencing the ballmer peak. it is such a funny concept and i wasn't aware of it till recently lol.
unrelatedly i'm also coining a new term here: conscience masturbation. it's when you do things to better your conscience without them having a tangible effect on you or others around you. for example forcing yourself to go to the library to study but not studying and also missing out on time that could be used to relax. you haven't achieved anything yet your conscience is a bit lighter. i'm guilty of this behaviour a lot.
i don't know if i'm still running with the concept or if there is even a concept but today's albums are isolation among urban misery by esipram and into the mist by autoisolation.
